From November 21 through to December 25, 2011 I set off on a research trip visiting birders and birds at wetalnd sites along the heavily humanly populated Australian South-Eastern coast. At each site I visited local birders who guided me through the places they work in and introduced me to the birds they care for. They also, generously hosted me in their homes.
